Clear Aligners Q & A

What is ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect is an orthodontic treatment that straightens crooked teeth with custom-made, clear aligners. These removable aligners gradually shift teeth into their proper position, much like conventional braces. But with ClearCorrect, the process is nearly invisible.

Not only does ClearCorrect give you the chance to straighten your teeth without putting your treatment on display, but it also works faster than conventional braces in many cases.

What are the benefits of ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect invisible aligners offer many benefits over conventional braces. When compared to braces, clear aligners are:

Clear aligners are just that — clear — making them a seamless addition to your smile, unlike conventional braces, which are bulky and noticeable when you open your mouth. ClearCorrect aligners are also removable so that you never have to worry about getting food caught in your braces.

Metal wires and brackets can irritate the inside of your cheeks, leaving painful sores and cuts. Fortunately, clear aligners are as smooth as your natural teeth so that they won’t rub against the inside of your cheeks.

Every patient is different, but ClearCorrect typically takes about six to 18 months to straighten teeth, while traditional braces are often worn for 18 months to three years.

One of the most important ClearCorrect benefits is that they’re removable. While they must be worn for 22 hours a day, you can take ClearCorrect out to eat, drink, and brush and floss your teeth.

Fixed braces make brushing and flossing difficult, especially if you have food stuck in your teeth. Since clear aligners are removable, you can continue to care for your teeth throughout your treatment properly.

How does the ClearCorrect process work?

If you’re a good candidate for clear aligners, your dentist uses digital impressions and ClearCorrect’s state-of-the-art software to design an individualized treatment plan that helps you achieve your desired results in the shortest amount of time.

Once your first set of aligners are fabricated, they’re sent to the office for pickup. After your dentist ensures your aligners are comfortable and fit properly, you’ll wear them for the next two weeks or so.

Every two weeks, you’ll receive a new set of aligners. You only have to come into the office once every six months for check-ins with your dentist. These visits help ensure your treatment stays on track, and if there are any problems, the dental team at Smiles for Life Family Dentistry can adjust the plan.

ClearCorrect can straighten crooked teeth, correct uneven bites, and more. To find out if clear aligners are right for you, call Smiles for Life Family Dentistry or book an appointment online.
